Last week I was out at a venue listening to my friend spin, I glance over to my right, and there is this woman sitting next to us wearing OVERALLS.

I thought I was imagining this, so after my friend had confirmed that, YES, this was actually happening I could not help but stare at this horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE get-up when I noticed that yes, they were the original Levi heavy blue denim, yes she had the straps pulled hella tight, and YES - she was actually wearing a TURTLE NECK sweater with them.

So with vivid memory of this awkward woman who needed to return her wardrobe to 1990-NEVER, I am browsing my Google Reader and come across Jean-Paul Gaultier’s new Spring collection for 2010 and I LOVE IT.

After hearing that good old Alanis Morissette, “Isn’t it ironic…” start playing in my head, I am a tab bit confused.  He has created new overalls that I adore, she was wearing overalls that were virtualy acid to the eyeballs, and this love and hate feeling for the “same” garments has me wondering who was tripping.  Her or I?

Bottom line: Gaultier is winning, the awkward woman losing, and both are forever in memory bank.  I will save you the headache, confusion, and Alanis Morissette throwback joint playing in your head, and just show you the one who has it all figured out…
